Several hundred thousand visitors flocked to the first book fair after a three-year break due to the pandemic.
As the organizers announced on Sunday, 274,000 people came to the exhibition halls and to the “Leipzig Reads” reading festival over the four days of the fair.

"The Leipzig Book Fair has proven perfectly why it is indispensable in the book spring," said Karin Schmidt-Friderichs, head of the German Book Trade Association.
