Jerusalem Mayor Moshe Leon got involved again in illegal election propaganda.
After the regional election committee determined at the beginning of the year that the mayor made illegal use of propaganda materials, several different publications issued by community administrations in the city read: "With the blessing of Mayor Moshe Leon."
This, contrary to the regulations that state that this is illegal propaganda.
The publications were issued by "Yuval" - the community administration of several neighborhoods, in preparation for the Independence Day events in the city.
In the publications, the name of the mayor Moshe Leon is mentioned, as the one who welcomes the events, even though he does not intend to participate.
A warning before a petition was filed against Leon and the municipality, and they removed the publications immediately through the community administrations, thereby admitting to the act.
The chairman of the regional election committee, Aryeh Romanov stated that due to the removal of the publications, the petition becomes theoretical, but placed the actual responsibility and the costs of the petition on the mayor and the other respondents.
