Greiling

– The legacies of dogs in Greiling are again causing a lot of trouble.

At the citizens' meeting on Thursday evening in the citizens' hall, the topic came up.

"Now in the spring, no one has lost anything in the fields," said Klaus Gistl in front of an audience of around 50.

But on the Hofzaunweg numerous trails were created.

"You're not allowed to create paths yourself, sometimes there are four beaten paths." In addition, many don't stay on the paths with their dogs.

"There are certain culprits who just don't get rid of the dog poop." For him, that had had dramatic effects.

"I got the feces in the cow feed, so we had a premature birth." Cow and calf should have been redeemed.

"If the cow starts to calve too early - these are really not pretty pictures." Of course, there is a leash obligation in the village, "but that's why everything is shifted to the outside".

Everyone knows that there is a ban on entry, said Mayor Anton Margreiter.

"But people still go through with it." Gistl often gets the comment that someone has the right to move about in nature wherever they want.

"But that's not true, not during the growing season." There is also a clear obligation to clear away dog waste.

There is something wrong in society, confirmed Margreiter.

"Actually, that's part of decency, of respect for the property of others." Gistl was also annoyed that nowadays signs are necessary for everything: "You actually know that after Georgi you don't go into the field anymore.

But today you need a sign for everything.” Everyone is allowed to exercise in the great outdoors, said Margreiter.

“But you have to point people back to decency and respect.

That's a big problem, nobody wants to know about duties.” As Margreiter added after the meeting,

the community treated the topic a little less sharply during the corona pandemic.

"People had to get out somehow." But now it's time to point it out again.

Second leg for water supply: Difficult search

There were other topics that were important to the people of Greiling and that were addressed.

Josef Langeder had thought about whether the municipality should create a second mainstay for the water supply.

"This could be very important for the future." Margreiter said that two existing springs on Mühlberg had already been looked at last year.

However, these no longer correspond to the current state of the art.

“We are in constant dialogue.

But it doesn't meet with much approval from landowners, even if it's just an emergency supply."

Finally, Manfred Kastenmüller wanted to draw the assembly's attention to the support association in case of fire, of which he is the local representative.

The association was founded in Benediktbeuern at the beginning of the 20th century and aims to offer quick help in an emergency.

It is important that the local chairman is informed about changes in ownership or bank details.

He also pointed out that any homeowner can become a member - you don't have to come from agriculture.

However, in order to join, you must have your own building fire insurance.

"An ingenious club," praised District Administrator Josef Niedermaier at the meeting.

"It's a precursor to insurance that does an awful lot of good."
