Munich – Animal missions for the Munich rescuers on Saturday, April 29th.

In just 24 hours, the fire brigade has rushed to the aid of animals eleven times, according to a press release.

Two deployments stand out in particular.

According to the press release, a small alarm vehicle (Klaf) was called to Am Westkreuz at 12:25 p.m.

“In a building complex on Radolfzeller Straße there is a reading courtyard on the first floor with extensive greenery.

A mother duck thought it would be an ideal and sheltered place and settled there with her clutch of eggs.

A total of 13 chicks flocked to the nest after hatching.

The problem, according to the fire department: the place was protected from robbers, but it was also a prison for the little ones.

The crew of the vehicle caught the animals and released them back into the wild - not far from their place of birth - at Lake Ramses.

The duck family was captured and released nearby.

At 6.57 p.m. there was another operation.

Observers had noticed in Maxstadtstraße that a squirrel was attacked and injured by ravens.

Emergency services found the exhausted animal on a tree trunk.

"They were able to catch the squirrel without any resistance or an attempt to escape," reports the fire brigade.

The animal had visible injuries on the front and rear legs.

The squirrel was taken to the fire station.

Shortly afterwards it was picked up by members of the Eichhörnchen Schutz eV for care and further treatment.
