The procession on May 1

started from the Casa del Popolo, in via Giorgio Kastriota in Piana degli Albanesi, and will end in Portella della Ginestra, in which the secretary of the Pd Elly Schlein also takes part.

The demonstration is organized by the CGIL together with the FLC, the Federation of Knowledge Workers.

This is how we remember the 76th anniversary of the massacre carried out by the gang led by Salvatore Giuliano which cost the lives of eleven people gathered for Labor Day.

The title of this year's initiative is: "Knowledge cultivates memory and rights".

A way to draw attention to the problems of the world of work.

At the forefront Mario Ridulfo, provincial secretary of the CGIL and Francesco Sinopoli, national secretary of the FLC.

Also parading was Adelmo Cervi, son of Aldo, one of the seven brothers tortured and shot by the fascists in 1943 in the Reggio Emilia shooting range.

Journalists also parade.

Vittorio Di Trapani, president of the National Federation of the Press, is present, together with the regional and Palermo secretariats of the Sicilian Press Association.

The demonstration began this morning with a religious ceremony and the laying of flowers at the Piana degli Albanesi cemetery.

"The so-called work decree that the government wants to pass today is actually a poverty and precariousness decree. It is not the right direction - said Elly Schlein -. We must move towards more stable and well-paid work. It is not possible that digital work is protected. Labor inspectors must be strengthened".

"Work in Italy is too poor and too pirated. Especially young people and women know this. We need to make a law on representation that eliminates pirate contracts. We need to introduce the minimum wage".
