Last Friday in Cleveland, Texas, a man killed five of his neighbors, including an eight-year-old child, with a semi-automatic rifle after they asked him to stop shooting in his garden at eleven o'clock at night.
The man, who fled, is still wanted by the police, who have warned that he is armed and dangerous.
This fivefold murder is the 174th mass shooting since the beginning of 2023 in the United States, this category designating cases where 4 or more people are victims of firearms.
In the past few weeks there have been shootings at a school fair in Dadeville, Alabama, at a bank in Louisville, Kentucky, at a school in Nashville, Tennessee, on a road in Maine, at the University of Michigan, on a farm in California and in a dance studio in Monterey Park, in the same state.
