“Together, let’s protect this unique heritage that is forests, source of life for all. The cry from the heart of the famous French navigator Isabelle Autissier, honorary president
of the French branch of the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), is neither an empty word nor an advertising slogan, it is a reality.
The green heart of the planet in danger
Forests play an undeniable role in the fight against climate change and the conservation of biodiversity.
At the heart of all biological cycles, the forest is nevertheless mistreated by human beings and the climate.
Deforestation, overexploitation but also extreme phenomena, droughts, hurricanes, fires… destroy 8 to 10 million hectares each year.
Within twenty-five years, 50% of the Amazon rainforest will become a desert landscape if no action is taken.
Unthinkable for the WWF which fights daily to avoid this real ecological cataclysm.
The objective is to defend and preserve forests that are still intact, but also to restore degraded forest areas, taking into account food needs,
Vital IFI donations to save forests
Each donation received as part of the real estate wealth tax (IFI) or the income tax (IR) contributes to the safeguarding of this common heritage and the survival of the planet.
In concrete terms, a donation of €500 allows WWF to provide a kit of agricultural equipment to a family in the Amazon to collect rubber in an ethical and sustainable way, and thus to triple its income without harming the forest.
In the Congo Basin, where WWF is leading a project to improve coexistence between elephants and communities, a donation of €1,000 is used to invest in three solar streetlights that protect plantations against the devastation of pachyderms without harming them (repellent acoustic, luminous…).
In France,
WWF's actions aim to help owners of forest plots to adopt management methods adapted to the challenges of biodiversity and climate change, in the general interest.
A donation of €5,000 thus makes it possible to protect several hectares of forest for 30 years.
Any donation received by the WWF is deductible at 75% of the IFI within the limit of €50,000, and of 66% of the IR within the limit of 20% of taxable income.
Giving is investing for the future of forests as well as that of people.
