Many town hall websites have been victims of a cyberattack carrying pro-Russian messages in recent days, Le Figaro
learned
from a well-informed source on Wednesday, May 3.
Among the sites attacked, that of the town hall of Bry-sur-Marne (Val-de-Marne), which displayed a blank page on which appeared the following sentence: “Respect Russia
!
Otherwise, we will continue to wage war on you
”.
Other Ile-de-France municipalities were affected, including Égreville (Seine-et-Marne), Marcoussis (Essonne) and Juziers (Yvelines).
“
45 sites that we host were hacked this weekend
”, confirms to
Figaro
Jean-Philippe Navarro, head of the IT services company Abtel, which hosts a thousand sites.
At least thirty cities have been impacted throughout the national territory.
The hackers carried out a defacement attack: they broke into the site to modify a page, in most cases the home page.
In a tweet, the LR mayor of Bry-sur-Marne, Charles Aslangul, announced that he had filed a complaint for "
fraudulent access to an automated processing system and modification / alteration of the latter
".
The city councilor pointed out to our colleagues from Le
Parisien
that no confidential data was extracted.
For now, we do not know who is behind these cyberattacks.
