While many in custody were released for lack of evidence following a May Day parade marred by violence in Lyon, all the defendants tried in immediate appearance on Wednesday were convicted.

Six people were thus given sentences ranging from three to ten months in prison, suspended, indicate the lawyers present on both sides of the bar at Le

Sanctions systematically accompanied by bans on demonstrations for a year and compensation for the police up to a few hundred euros in most cases.

Two cases were also postponed to a later date because of the workload of the hearing, the defendants having been placed under judicial control.

One of them is suspected of having tagged the Bartholdi fountain, place des Terreaux.

Among those sentenced were individuals visibly affiliated with the ultra-left movement and the black bloc - who received the harshest sentences - but also students, such as these two young girls aged 18 and 19, sentenced to four month suspended prison sentence.

They were all prosecuted for violence against the police, during this parade punctuated by numerous clashes and degradations.

Jets of projectiles in particular, whether glass bottles, balloons filled with excrement or cobblestones.

The prefecture counted six wounded among the demonstrators and 19 in the ranks of the police, including one seriously, as well as 55 bruised.

The images filmed by a drone, authorized for the first time to follow the demonstration by a prefectural decree, were not used in the procedure.

At least three other people were sentenced in appearance on prior admission of guilt (CRPC), in addition to the one already tried on Tuesday in this so-called plea-guilty procedure.
