This Thursday, an 18-year-old young woman was summoned to appear immediately before the Bordeaux court for acts of willful violence against persons holding public authority.
When the police were putting the police station's protective barriers back in place, the defendant allegedly - according to her lawyer - committed "
a slightly abrupt and unthoughtful gesture
", using a tear gas canister to attack three police officers.
The facts occurred on Tuesday, during a rally in front of the police station to demand the release of the individuals still in police custody, among the 23 arrested on the sidelines of the May Day demonstration.
Despite the first rather good-natured marches in Bordeaux, several dozen black blocs have indeed begun to crack down on the mobilizations against the pension reform since March, even going so far as to set fire to the door of the town hall.
During this rally in front of the police station, the police used tear gas to disperse the demonstrators and made five new arrests, before being attacked.
The facts could almost make you laugh when you hear them, sighs the lawyer for the police: “
a person gassed police officers, in front of a police station
”.
But among the three civil servants who received tear gas, one received a day of total work interruption (ITT).
Questioned by the judge, the defendant assumes having "
directed the tear gas canister
" at this police officer, but according to her, the two other officers affected were accidentally affected.

Entirely dressed in black, her hair partly dyed purple, the young woman who has just spent 48 hours in police custody explains to the court that she is "used to
participating in demonstrations, but always in a pacifist (sic) way
".
The tear gas canister she had on her during this rally would have the sole purpose of "
[la] protect when [she] comes home alone in the evening
".
Acknowledging the facts, the young woman explains that she saw "
that [her] friend was entering the police station and that he was handcuffed
", and wanted to "
join him
".
This temporality does not work in its favor.
When the young woman allegedly gassed the police, they had already evacuated the demonstrators.
"
It is not tenable, whether in Bordeaux or elsewhere, to have this gesture in front of a police station, even though the situation has become calm again"
, storms the representative of the public prosecutor's office in this regard, because "
the people arrested were inside and the barriers were being put back
".
Although the defendant, who works as a part-time saleswoman, has no criminal record, the public prosecutor's office requested "a
significant amount
" of her: a ten-month suspended prison sentence, a ban on wearing a arms for three years and the obligation to complete a citizenship course at his own expense.
The lawyer for the three police officers asked that she pay €700 in compensation to the most affected official and €400 to the other two.
