The RIP will not take place.

For the second time in a row, the Constitutional Council has decided to invalidate a request for a shared initiative referendum.

A decision that most lawyers had anticipated and which is all the less surprising since, in reality, the RIP was designed never to be used.

A real gas plant, in addition to the validation of the Constitutional Council, it requires bringing together 10% of the electorate, or 4.9 million signatories, to be triggered against only 500,000 in Italy.

Finally, it should be added that once the signatures have been collected, the text is not automatically submitted to a referendum.

It is only if the National Assembly and the Senate refuse to examine it.

Suffice to say that no RIP will ever see the light of day in France.

A hypocrisy, which recalls the famous citizens' conventions or even the great debate after the crisis of "yellow vests", and comes to feed a little more the democratic frustration of a part of the French...
