Just one hour after the service, ship lovers and onlookers can marvel at the around 250 ships in the famous parade.

A wide variety of ships and boats will then be in the harbor until Sunday – from the Polish tall ship “Dar Młodzieży” to the 300-metre-long cruise ship Aida perla to small fishing boats.

Anyone who misses the arrival parade on Friday has the chance to see the ships in action again at the departure parade on Sunday.

The port festival, which claims to be the world's largest, is not only a highlight for fans of shipping - with numerous music, art and sporting events there is something for almost everyone.

The extraordinary tractor ballet and the minute-long fireworks are planned for Saturday.
