Netanyahu met with US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan

US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan said tonight (Friday) that he had a video call with his Israeli counterpart in the position of Tzachi Hanegbi on Wednesday.

According to him, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also joined the conversation for a short time.

According to Sullivan, the United States is still working to reach a deal that will lead to the normalization of relations between Israel and Saudi Arabia.

Sullivan will go to Saudi Arabia this weekend, where he will talk, in addition to the Saudis, with representatives from the United Arab Emirates and India about the United States' relations with these countries, and about joint regional initiatives.

In addition, Sullivan said in a press conference that the United States will take the necessary actions so that Iran does not have nuclear weapons.

However, Sullivan said, the United States is still interested in a diplomatic solution to Iran's nuclear program.

Sullivan met with Netanyahu in Israel at the end of January this year and discussed with him the promotion of normalization with Saudi Arabia.

According to the Prime Minister's Office, they also discussed a joint effort to stop the Iranian nuclear program and Iran's activities in the region.

Netanyahu acknowledged President Joe Biden's commitment that Iran would not have nuclear weapons.

"I have known President Biden for 40 years as a great friend of Israel, I know how much he trusts you in matters of national security," Netanyahu said at the beginning of the meeting.

"You should know that we see you as loyal partners in matters of common security, and of course the promotion of peace."

According to the Prime Minister's Office, the two welcomed the importance of strategic relations between Israel and the United States and the need to deepen them, and also discussed the next steps to deepen the Abraham Accords and expand the circle of peace.

Netanyahu also said at the meeting that the latest moves by the Palestinians in the international arena are "an attack on Israel and require us to respond."
