, announced Saturday that he has opted to play for the University of Southern California (USC) next season.

In a message on Instagram,

posted a photo of himself in the USC locker room with the caption "Fight On #committed."

The talented and mediatic teenager is considered

one of the greatest

high school promises in the United States and, when his time came to make the leap to college basketball, he had several offers from other important teams.

"So proud of you. I have no words beyond I LOVE YOU

," LeBron James, who is playing the NBA playoffs with the Los Angeles Lakers, also wrote on Instagram.

Bronny finished his last campaign at the Sierra Canyon Institute (Los Angeles) scoring 15 points, with five triples, in an end-of-year game with the most coveted teenagers in college basketball.

His famous father,

the NBA's all-time leading scorer

and four-time league champion, has repeatedly expressed his intention to remain active until he can share a team with his son.

Bronny will be eligible for the 2024 NBA Draft
