In detail, France 2 came out on top with 3.6 million viewers (30.1% market share) counted between 12 and 4 p.m. ahead of the special edition presented by Julian Bugier with Stéphane Bern and Adélaïde de Clermont- Thunder at his side.
Opposite, TF1 with Gilles Bouleau and Anne-Claire Coudray was able to rely on 2.8 million Crown fans between 12 and 2 p.m., or 2.8 million audience share.
M6, which offered a "12.45" extended to 2 p.m., only attracted 217,000 people and a 1.7% audience share.

The record for an event around the British monarchy is held by Lady Diana's funeral on September 6, 1997, which was watched in France by 10.1 million viewers on average between 8:50 a.m. and 1:20 p.m., and only on TF1 and France 2, info channels did not yet exist at the time.
