Argentine writer Hernán Díaz won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction for his novel Fortuna (Trust). The book was a novelty published by the Anagrama label in April and is in reprint, given the success of sales in its first weeks.

Díaz was born in Buenos Aires in 1973, spent his childhood in Sweden and now lives in the United States, where he teaches at Columbia University.

He writes in English, published an academic book on Borges. He has two fictions translated into Spanish: "A lo lejos" (Impedimenta), which earned him several awards, such as the Saroyan International Prize, the Cabell Award, the Prix Page America, the New American Voices Award, and was a finalist for the PEN/Faulkner Prize for best fiction.

"Fortuna", by Hernán Díaz.

His second novel, Trust, also received very good reviews – The New York Times defines it as "four novels in one" for its unique stylistic structure – to such an extent that since the book was published (it will have versions in 25 languages) with such a good impact, several producers were interested in buying the film rights. Diaz evaluated all until he chose: HBO and Kate Winslet, the actress of films such as Titanic, The Life of David Gale and Mare of Easttown.

Trust or Fortuna, in addition, will be adapted to the miniseries format by the American actress and producer Kate Winslet and will be broadcast on HBO. The writer, based years ago in the United States, will serve as co-executive producer of the audiovisual version based on his bestseller in English and where he addresses the issue of money and finance from the idea that "money has a structure similar to fiction."

"After a long process, it became clear that HBO was the best choice for the book. We are only now beginning to have a serious conversation about how to approach adaptation. My role is that of executive producer, so I'm involved in all aspects of the development of the project," the writer said at the time. The release date, they estimate, will take place between 2024 and 2025.
