The military prosecution on Monday filed a serious indictment against a soldier with the rank of Staff Sergeant for assault, aggravated abuse and threats against a Palestinian resident of Judea and Samaria, after he and three other soldiers arrested and assaulted a Palestinian TikTok star as "revenge" for documenting them.
According to the indictment, the soldier, along with three other soldiers from the 51st Battalion of the Golani Brigade, arrested the Palestinian during a patrol mission, put the Palestinian in a military jeep and drove with him to a secluded place. During and after the trip, the soldiers beat the Palestinian and used violence with weapons. The soldiers also made threats, including threats with weapons, against the Palestinian. Finally, they left him where he was taken, suffering from pain and various injuries to his body.

The act was allegedly carried out in revenge against a Palestinian after he filmed the soldiers and their commander during an arrest and uploaded the video to the social network TikTok. After the incident, the defendant and the other soldiers concealed the details of the case from their commanders, in an attempt to prevent the opening of a Military Police investigation into the matter. In addition, the soldiers coordinated their versions in order to disrupt the investigation.
The military prosecution said that the indictment against the soldier also includes counts of abuse of office, exceeding authority to the point of endangering life or health, several offenses of obstruction of justice, and misconduct. The prosecution also said that it had requested that the defendant be remanded in custody until the end of the proceedings, but at that point his detention was extended until Thursday, May 11, when a hearing on the prosecution's request will be held.

In the case of the other three soldiers, the military prosecution declared its intention to indict them. At the request of the suspects' attorneys, a hearing will be held before the MAG Corps before the wording of the indictment is decided. At the same time, the military court extended the detention of two of the soldiers. The third soldier will remain in open detention conditions in his unit. At this moment, the soldiers' identifying details are forbidden from publication.
