Highlights: Negotiations between the municipality and the day care center Haar gGmbH have failed. The negotiations between the municipality and the day care center Haar gGmbH have failed. For some parents, it's getting really expensive now.

Haar – There will be no cooperation agreement between the municipality and the Haar gGmbH daycare center, so the daycare center on Ferdinand-Kobell-Straße will be continued from September under the auspices of the municipality in order to protect parents from a fee increase of up to 150 percent.

Mother Andrea Kunz lacked parental involvement in the decision

The fundamental decision has been made, but there is still no sigh of relief for the parents. "We parents were never involved in the decision, neither on the part of the institution nor on the part of the municipality," says Andrea Kunz, mother of a daycare child. Unfortunately, the community did not respond to an open letter from parents, so they were disappointed that there had been "no constructive handling of the situation".

Many questions remain unanswered, for example on the subject of personnel

Especially since many questions remained unanswered. The parents do not know whether the daycare staff will be taken over by the municipality and also not whether there will be enough skilled workers available in September. That's why, despite a verbal commitment to a daycare place, Andrea Kunz still doesn't know whether her two one-year-old twins will really be accommodated there in September and whether she will then be able to return to her job.

Situation for parents of the other two institutions remains difficult

So there can be no talk of relaxation with the Kunz family yet. She is also not satisfied that her facility is "saved" and that there is no threat of a 150 percent increase in daycare fees. "Because even if it looks like we got away with a black eye, we hoped to be able to better support the parents of the other two facilities of the Kita gGmbH. The situation now is unfair to them."

Third Mayor Katharina Dworzak feels sorry for the parents of the other two houses

Third Mayor Katharina Dworzak (SPD), who also has a child in the daycare center, can only support this. "I am particularly sorry for the parents of the other two houses that the Kita gGmbH maintains in Haar," said Dworzak. They have to bear the increased daycare fees "and unfortunately we can't do anything about that". At least she is confident that the municipality will succeed in creating a good transition for Ferdinand-Kobell-Straße. "I will also be happy to help and help shape this. Because I know the facility very well."

Regret about negative attitude of the management of Kita Haar gGmbH

Dworzak hopes that the kindergarten staff will accept the offer to work for the community and that the cross-age concept can also be preserved. "But I very much regret that the management of Kita gGmbH has refused to sign the cooperation agreement and will not continue to run the house."
