2023-05-09T03:08:35.392Z

Highlights: Neighbor's note in Munich shows angry text - including a clear threat. A notice shared on the popular Instagram page "notesofgermany" shows the tone of voice that some people use when they feel disturbed in their peace. It is not clear from the article whether the notice is justified or not. Either way, the addressee may not have had a good day after reading the note - even if the authors at the end of the text at least managed to get a greeting.

A well-functioning neighborhood is not the rule. In Munich, a notice has now made it onto the Internet - and shows that threats are not shied away from.

Munich - It is probably one of the most common quarrels in German places of residence: conflict in the neighborhood. Whether it's plants that reach into the neighbor's garden, disturbances of the peace or daily practice with instruments such as piano or trumpet - conflicts of this kind are almost part of unpleasant normality. In most cases, conflicts can be easily resolved during a chat in the stairwell, but this humane approach does not always seem to be the preferred one, as a recent example from Munich now shows.

A notice shared on the popular Instagram page "notesofgermany" shows the tone of voice that some people use when they feel disturbed in their peace. The site regularly shares pictures of curiosities all over Germany, this time in Munich. You can see a piece of paper written on a computer. It is not possible to verify where exactly the notice was placed and whether it really comes from Munich. Much more important, however, is the content that can be read on it.

Neighbors threaten in Munich with a notice notice – "Otherwise we will be forced to take action"

"In a very short time, you have enemies in the neighborhood, even through your ignorance – loud phone calls on the balcony, excessively loud TV or music well after 22 p.m., where there should actually be a night's rest" (editor's note: text in the original), the text begins. Directly striking: Neither a greeting seems to consider the author necessary, nor a correct German spelling.

Then it continues: "We kindly ask you to refrain from this", and then start directly to the final threat: "Otherwise we will be forced to take measures that will be detrimental to you, also with regard to your tenancy." Finally, the anonymous angry neighbor draws with a greeting, signed "the neighborhood".
