The Jerusalem District Court today sentenced a 16-year-old minor, who confessed and was convicted, as part of a plea bargain, of a terrorist act of attempted murder, to 15 years in prison, suspended imprisonment and financial compensation to Eliyahu Dahan, the stabbing victim.
The serious attack took place in October 2022 on Six Days Street in Jerusalem, near the light rail station. The terrorist attacked Dahan with a knife and brutally stabbed him. The terrorist managed to escape and was neutralized after a chase by a policeman at a nearby soccer field.

The verdict was reached as part of the plea bargain, in which the Jerusalem District Attorney's Office sought to sentence the terrorist to 15 years in prison, suspended imprisonment and financial compensation to the victim. The court approved the plea bargain and ruled: In his planned and cruel act, the defendant caused terrible injury to the complainant's body and soul. He was a step away from taking his life." The indictment was led by prosecutor Miriam Ben-Gal.

Honenu, an organization representing the victim of the attack, said: "Now is the time to demand that the legislature demand strict punishment for minor terrorists in the case of terrorist attacks. A terrorist does not deserve to walk outside the prison walls in his life."
