Uri Fight Club – The Legend of the Kick Boxing World in Israel! ("Martial Arts Fight Club")

There is no need to introduce Uri Zvi, his name precedes him - the man who greatly influenced the world of martial arts in Israel, fourth place in the world by the World Council for Kickbox, holds a Dan1 black belt in Karate Shotu Kan, a brown belt in Kung Fu-Shurei Wu Shu, holds a national and international training certificate in kickboxing and is a graduate of the Self-Defense Instructor Course (KMI) from Wingate College.

Uri began practicing martial arts as a child. He brought the sport of kickboxing to Israel in 1987 and since then he has been working hard to develop the sport and for the welfare of its athletes and coaches.

How did your love for the field come about?
Uri: It's a story you don't get to hear every day. At the age of 8 I was a huge fan of Bruce Lee, I was very pained by his sudden death and I really wanted to know the cause of death. Since there was no internet at the time, everything was very private, I asked for the address of Chuck Norris, a legend in his field and a well-known colleague of Bruce Lee. I wrote to the newspaper "Cinema World", they answered my request, sent me his address. Chuck answered me, maintained a warm relationship with me, and also came to visit me. Out of all this crazy story, the love for the field only grew stronger and I felt that the profession chose me, I knew from a young age what I wanted to do.

And so it happened, Uri opened the Israeli Kickboxing Association, and was the first to bring this type of martial art to Israel.

Uri: We took a shelter in south Tel Aviv, which was abandoned and flooded, over time into an empire that has an advanced arena that includes screens and advanced equipment.

Every November to April, the club does an Inter Club, which is actually a meeting of clubs from all over the country, where there is a fight night that is broadcast live on the various YouTube channels.

What is the age range of exercisers?
Uri: From 5 to 65 years old!
From group coaching to individual training.
The training includes full protection, security is a supreme value with us!

I started out as a fat kid and a coward and got to the point where I finished 4th, my enthusiasm for Bruce Lee, I see it in my trainees today.

What is the compensation given by the club?
Uri: First of all the goal is one - to build self-confidence for people, we as adults have to deal with difficulties. You enter an arena that is a jungle in itself, which sets you, to face your fears.

If you can overcome them, I'm there to give the tool to deal with it, and beat it. Fear becomes your hobby, the adrenaline from the arena drives you to be the best version of yourself.
