Highlights: Couples plan their wedding for months and then have to cancel it at the last minute. Operation Shield and Arrow led to the cancellation of many events, changes in plans. "The event was cancelled at the stage when the photographer had already arrived at the hotel to Shaked, and we had already decorated the car, it really sucks," says one bride. "Everyone received the news with disappointment and understanding, since the reasons are security," says the groom. "At least they will be able to watch Eurovision," adds the bride.

Cancellation of events and changes in plans are a given situation during tense security times • Those who unfortunately feel the damage more strongly are the couples who plan their wedding for many months and then have to cancel it at the last minute • Idan Zohar and Shaked Ben Baruch, who were expected to get married tonight, say: "The event was cancelled at the stage when the photographer had already arrived at the hotel to Shaked, and we had already decorated the car, it really sucks"

Operation Shield and Arrow, launched by the IDF Monday night (Monday-Tuesday), in which three senior Islamic Jihad operatives were assassinated, led to the cancellation of many events, changes in plans, and increased alert and alertness of residents in the southern communities and the Gaza envelope.

Other events, which are usually cancelled due to a tense security situation, are weddings. Unlike other events, a wedding is, in most cases, a production on which the bride and groom and their families work for many months in anticipation of the long-awaited day.

This is exactly what happened to Idan Zohar (29), a technical support worker, and Shaked Ben Baruch (26), a student and kindergarten assistant from Holon, who have been planning their wedding day for seven months, and did not think for a moment that the happiest day of their lives would be postponed at the last minute, due to the security situation. The two were supposed to be married today in the Troy halls of the Bnei Darom compound, near Ashdod.

Idan told Israel Hayom about their feelings. "We hadn't seen each other for a week and when we were supposed to see each other at the most exciting stage, the event was cancelled. Shaked, who had just organized herself at the hotel, called me crying at road signs, and I also broke down and cried. It was very hard for me. It all happened in an instant."

"The event was cancelled when the photographer had already arrived at the hotel, and we had already decorated the car. We spoke to the hall and realized it would be better to postpone. They help us a lot and we will choose a new date. It really sucks, I can't even describe at what level. That caught him at the height of his preparations for the event."

At least they will be able to watch Eurovision

Idan and Shaked's wedding was supposed to take place this evening. Some of the gifts have already been sent to the couple via digital money transfers. "We had about 400 invitees," they say. "Everyone received the news with disappointment and understanding, since the reasons are security. There were some who had already given us gifts in Bitt, and we still haven't approved them, of course."

"Before we announced the postponement of the event, there were those who were worried and said that the situation did not look good, and the good friends said that they would also come under fire to be with us. The only thing is that Shaked is a fan of Noa Kirel and although she cries a lot, she said that at least she earned watching Eurovision."

Regarding the suppliers' reactions, Idan said, "All the suppliers accepted it with understanding. Our hall allows us to postpone the date and they really were amazing with us. Both the photographer who was already at the hotel understood this and the DJ. They really are amazing people."
