Chad Atchley was the one who shared the shocking clip online. "Five people, including three children under the age of 12, were able to flee the car," he told the Daily Mail.
The video shows how the embroidered colored SUV turns 180 degrees and ends up hitting a street sign when the freight train hits it.
As is often the case in such cases, and as confirmed by the witness, the driver of the car had advanced to the tracks while waiting for a red light instead of being stopped.

"They lowered the barriers for the train to pass and it was already on top of the van," Atchley said. "Seconds before the train hit them, they jumped up and grabbed the children from the back seats," he added in his statement to the outlet.
