Highlights: The world covered the IDF attack on the Gaza Strip on Tuesday, but alongside the killing of the three senior Islamic Jihad figures, they chose to highlight the innocent children and civilians killed in the attack. The media did not ignore the terrorist attacks carried out by senior ISIS operatives who were killed. Apart from reports of Israeli air strikes in the Gaza Strip, the operation against Islamic Jihad does not make the headlines in the global media. Most covered the assassination of senior Islamic Jihad figures, but focused, among other things, on civilians and children killed in the attacks

The world covered the IDF attack on the Gaza Strip on Tuesday, but alongside the killing of the three senior Islamic Jihad figures, they chose to highlight the innocent children and civilians killed in the attack. The newspapers also noted that Israel was preparing for a response from the Gaza Strip, but the media had not yet begun to cover the incident extensively.

The Washington Post informed its readers that "Islamic Jihad commanders were killed along with multiple family members." Next to it, the British daily newspaper The Guardian wrote under the headline "Israel bombed the Gaza Strip, killing three Islamic Jihad leaders and nine civilians" that "Israeli airstrikes on the closed Gaza Strip against Islamic Jihad killed three senior members of the organization and at least nine civilians, including three children."

However, the media did not ignore the terrorist attacks carried out by senior ISIS operatives who were killed. CNN, for example, reported that Tareq Izz al-Din, one of the senior operatives killed in the operation, was involved, according to the IDF Spokesperson, in bringing "improvised rockets to the West Bank with the aim of launching them into Israel and harming civilians."

Last night, the IDF eliminated three senior Islamic Jihad commanders in the Gaza Strip, launching Operation Shield and Arrow. This followed a period of unrest near the Gaza Strip, which included many rockets fired at communities in the area. After hours of quiet, the Israeli Air Force attacked an anti-tank squad in the southern Gaza Strip city of Khan Yunis. Two Palestinians were killed in the strike, Reuters reported.

Islamic Jihad said that "the Palestinian response to the criminal massacre will not be delayed. The Al-Quds Brigades and the resistance will not be complacent in the face of this pure blood." Hamas also responded to the operation, even though the IDF assassinations were carried out only by senior jihadists. Senior Hamas figure Ismail Haniyeh said that "the assassination will not achieve more security for the occupier, but more resistance. The enemy made a mistake in his assessment and will pay the price for his crime. Resistance alone will determine the way it hurts the enemy, the aggression was against all our people, and the resistance is united in the struggle."
