2023-05-10T03:46:50.139Z

Highlights: The Grandauer Volksfest in Grafing begins on Friday, 12 May, and lasts for eleven days. A litre of beer costs 10.60 euros this year, and half a chicken costs just as much. The first highlight of the programme will be the Grafinger Schafkopf Championship on Saturday, 13 May, at 13.30 p.m., which will be organised by the Ebersberger Zeitung – for the 21st time. On Father's Day, May 18, the International Alpine Stone Lifting Championship will take place again from 11 a.m.

The beer tasting for the Grandauer Volksfest was well attended - and is a good opportunity for a preview of Grafing's celebration program.

Grafing – You can do it without a microphone: Wildbräu master brewer Johannes Hartwig simply climbed onto a beer table to explain to the many guests from up there what they were holding in their hands: a mug of festival beer, caramel-coloured, not too malty, with 13.5 percent original wort. With an alcohol content of 5.6 percent, it is strong, but not a strong beer.

The beer tasting in the Grandauer marquee is becoming more and more popular. "This year it is bigger than ever before," said Bräu Gregor Schlederer, delighted with the exceptionally large number of visitors and said about the upcoming folk festival on Jahnstraße: "This is the flagship of our brewery."

Grandauer Volksfest in Grafing: Beer Prize and Chicken Prize 2023

A litre of beer costs 10.60 euros this year, and half a chicken costs just as much.

The Grandauer Volksfest "is a nice event for everyone, a super festival," Mayor Christian Bauer attested to the festival host brothers Anton and Christian Kainz. These two, in turn, can rely on the fact that they have many helpers – including the Grafinger fire brigade, which helped to set up the large tent.

The Grandauer Volksfest begins on Friday, 12 May, and lasts for eleven days. It starts at 18 p.m. with the entry from the market square. The Grafinger firecrackers let it rip and at 18.30 p.m. Mayor Christian Bauer taps the first barrel. To kick things off, the Glonner Musi will play. "This is our house music," said Anton Kainz happily, because on May 14 and May 17, the Glonn musicians will also provide a good atmosphere in the evening.

For this purpose, the Bergangerer Goaßlschnalzer have announced themselves and from 13 p.m. on this day the popular senior citizens' afternoon will take place, which is also supported by the city of Grafing, with free beer and free chicken. For the seniors, the "Blech Bagage" plays up. "It's getting more and more every year," says Anton Kainz, pleased with the increasing popularity.
