Bad Tölz – On Ascension Day, 18 May, bathing will take place again this year in the historic Eichmühle natural outdoor pool.
At this time, the water temperature will still be in the refreshing range of around 14 to 16 degrees, as the water is known to flow directly from the Ellbach into the "Oach". Provided the weather is dry, the pool opens daily from 9 a.m. to 19 p.m.
In case of rain, the gates to the Eichmühle remain closed, but the indoor swimming pool on the Flinthöhe opens during the opening hours specified there. "As a rule, it is not possible to operate both swimming pools at the same time this year, but this approach has been known to the population for many years and has proven itself," confesses press spokeswoman Martina Geisberger from Stadtwerke Bad Tölz. The energy company operates both pools. In addition, this regulation ensures "that sufficient staff is always available for the respective pool operation".
The municipal utilities are using the winter break to carry out various renovations. For example, the sanitary facilities were completely repaired, the flooring around the main house was renewed and a new staircase was installed on the south-west meadow of the Eichmühle natural swimming pool.
"Due to the general increase in costs, the entrance fees for the outdoor pool have been adjusted," reports Geisberger. For example, adults now pay 5 euros instead of 4.50 euros for the day ticket; Children and adolescents (6 to 16 years) 4 euros (instead of 3.50 euros).
Infants are still admitted free of charge. For frequent swimmers, it is recommended to buy a season ticket, which costs 70 euros for adults and 40 euros for students.
