Children break through glass roof: Serious accident in Bavaria

According to the police, the four children climbed to play on the roof of a Donauwörth shopping center. When they were on a glass plate, it broke – and the quartet fell about four meters to the ground. They landed on the hard concrete floor of a vacant commercial space on the upper floor of the building, police said in a press release on Wednesday, May 10.

Accordingly, two of the four boys, all between the ages of ten and 13, suffered serious injuries. All four had to be taken to a hospital. According to the police, however, none of the children are in danger of death.

Police are investigating – how did the boys get to the roof?

The police are now investigating how the accident could have happened. The four boys had apparently reached the flat roof via a secured fire escape. There they climbed onto a two-by-two-meter skylight, which gave way under their weight. However, the ladder was cordoned off, it is said – the barrier was therefore ignored by the children. Also, the affected area was not accessible to customers at the time of the accident. (FHZ)
