The social documentary "Hartz und herzlich – Tag für Tag Benz-Baracken" follows the residents of the socially disadvantaged district in Mannheim at every turn. The show is all about the – sometimes difficult – fates of the Benz barrackers and their everyday life with Hartz IV. As MANNHEIM24 reports, there are also positive developments at "Hartz und herzlich".

"Hartz und herzlich" on RTLZWEI: TV darling Janine starts her own business after training
The Benz barracks in Mannheim's Waldhof district – this is also where twin mum Janine lives. Thanks to the RTLZWEI programme, she is now known far beyond the borders of the city of squares. Over the years, she has become a real TV celebrity alongside Elvis, Katrin and the now deceased Dagmar. (The social documentary can also be seen on RTL+.)

Janine has experienced an up and down of emotions: The big day on which the "Hartz und herzlich" participant finally opens her own shop is followed a few months later by a bitter disappointment: The "Hartz und herzlich" beauty queen announces the salon closure.
In an Instagram story, Janine announces the closure of the store: "[...] I am now working from home. My shop is closed with immediate effect! Nothing bad happened, was my decision." She also writes that appointments could still be booked by e-mail. So far, nothing is known about the reasons for the closure. Now, however, Janine is surprising her fans with good news!
"Hartz and cordial" in the Benz barracks: Janine signs employment contract
On her Instagram story on Thursday (May 4), Janine shared some surprising news: "Happy. Employment contract signed," it reads. In a subsequent post, the single parent posts a video of her children romping around on a playground. She gives the family video an emotional headline: "I do everything just for you".

Now reality has overtaken what is happening on TV. In the preview of the new episodes "Hartz und herzlich", Janine tells us that the opening of her shop has been delayed by a month and is in the midst of preparations for self-employment. As she now announces on Instagram, she has apparently signed a contract as an employee. What this means for their independence remains to be seen. (sik)
