Former Satanic cult member Cheryl Beck has spoken openly about her near-death experience and brief visit to heaven — saying she "saw God sitting on His throne" and "millions praying" at His feet.

Cheryl Beck, who was born into a sick cult, was rushed to the hospital feeling unwell and suffered a heart attack. She said she suddenly became "very aware" that she was in no more pain and that her heart stopped breathing. She said she felt herself leaving her body behind. "Wow, I'm dead," she said to herself at that moment.

On Randy Kay's podcast, Cheryl described the out-of-body experience and what she allegedly saw in the "afterlife." On the one hand, she said she saw the team of doctors "go crazy" around her in an attempt to save her, and at the same time she got a glimpse of the afterlife, including an encounter with her dead son, Samuel, and a "heavenly blue portal" where God sat on his throne. "When I looked up, my son was standing in front of me. We were enveloped in a globe of bright, white light. I didn't feel pain for the first time in my life. I know God let me die to be with my son, because it healed all this guilt I had."

Her meeting with Samuel soon led to an encounter with God. "I looked to the right and a gate opened in the distance, like a blue window. I see God on His throne. I can only see from his calves down. He wears sandals," Cheryl said.

Beyond the bizarre fashion choice, the almighty being up there was surrounded by worshippers and people singing and dancing at her feet, with Cheryl comparing what she saw there to a halftime show at a sporting event. She added: "Those colours were actually millions of people and their worship robes. As they danced, the robes changed colors with the music. The people were as high as the bottom of God's sandals, it was a huge worship room of some kind."

Although Cheryl did not see Jesus during her visit to heaven, she "felt his presence" before being thrown out and brought back to life. Before leaving Heaven, Cheryl claimed that her son told her she had "a lot more work to do" on Earth.

She concluded: "I became a ball of light and boom – I returned to my body. I didn't need to be resuscitated and it hurt a lot at that point. I felt the heart attack. It was such a healing experience, so beautiful of God to let it happen. I thank him."
