After Camaïeu and Made.com, San Marina's stocks are the delight of Noz customers

Highlights: Noz has scooped up in the space of a few months the stocks of Camaïeu, Made.com and San Marina. The brand based in Laval (Mayenne) is preparing this Friday to offer in its stores the summer 2023 collection of the shoemaker. The first stocks of San Marina delivered to Noz stores in mid-April, from the latest winter collection, "sold out very quickly," says the company. In total, 310,000 items have been purchased, including 90,000 that will be available from Friday in its 300 stores.

The misfortune of ready-to-wear or furniture brands that close one after the other makes the happiness of others. And among these others, we count the destocker Noz, which has scooped up in the space of a few months the stocks of Camaïeu, Made.com and San Marina. The brand based in Laval (Mayenne) is preparing this Friday to offer in its stores the summer 2023 collection of the shoemaker, liquidated last February.

Success should be there again. The first stocks of San Marina delivered to Noz stores in mid-April, from the latest winter collection, "sold out very quickly," says the company. It must be said that the destocker offers a 60% discount on the original prices of shoes, leather goods and accessories that were sold at San Marina. In total, 310,000 items have been purchased, including 90,000 that will be available from Friday in its 300 stores.

Customers had already rushed to the stock of furniture from Made.com, as well as that of Camaïeu clothing. For the latter, "there were several arrivals and each time a real craze," reports Noz. As for the destocker, founded in 1976, we would almost be surprised by this spotlight. "We have had the same strategy for 47 years," explains the European leader in destocking, acknowledging that it is "more visible at the moment because of the media coverage of companies in difficulty".

'Great opportunities'

For the destocker, these "great opportunities" - as he calls them - are a godsend. If Noz, like all discounters (Action, Foir'Fouille, Stokomani...) takes advantage of the inflationary period to attract a new clientele, the brand is on the other hand competing with second-hand sales platforms (Vinted, Leboncoin...). "In this world of low prices, a company like Noz must try to distinguish itself and one of the ways to do it is to buy stocks of known companies, Camaïeu, San Marina or others, and offer them to customers," economist Philippe Barbieux told France Bleu Mayenne.

After closing at least twenty stores in 2022, "a dozen will reopen this year," says Noz. These reopenings "have no link" with the purchase of stocks in Camaïeu, Made.com and San Marina, it is claimed. The arrival of San Marina stocks this Friday will not be the last. The products of the winter collection should arrive in stores next September.
