Good news for the approximately 100,000 subscribers to the Max Jeune and Max Senior offers. These subscriptions, which allow 16-27 year olds and over 60s to travel by train in an unlimited way in France integrate from this Thursday, May 11 the Ouigo High Speed which have just celebrated their 10 years. Until now, only TGV inOui, Intercités with compulsory reservation and national night trains were eligible. By doing their research, "MaxTrotters" can now find more €0 tickets.

As for the rest, nothing changes. The season ticket (formerly called TGVmax) can be used for second-class travel in France, as well as to or from Luxembourg or Freiburg im Breisgau. The quota of seats allocated to users varies from train to train and from day to day. As recalled in the general conditions of sale, updated on May 10, most trains running during peak periods are not eligible. These periods correspond to weekend departures and returns (Friday and Sunday afternoons and evenings), school holidays, public holidays and bridges.

Unlimited offers elsewhere in Europe

Launched in 2017, the TGVmax season ticket was initially reserved for young people aged 16 to 27 inclusive. In early 2022, it was extended to travelers over 60 years old. Victim of its success, the offer regularly arouses the frustration of some subscribers who can no longer find the places allocated to them.

Elsewhere in Europe, other offers allow you to take the train at will without breaking the bank. In Germany, the Deutschland-Ticket launched this month gives access to all trains and public transport in the country (except high-speed trains) for €49 per month. Earlier this month, Hungary also introduced a similar ticket for €49 per month. Unlike TGVmax, these subscriptions are accessible to all, regardless of age and without commitment of duration.
