The "Patriot" tour of the far-right rapper plans a concert this Saturday in Nantes. The municipality indicates that he "is not welcome" because of virulent remarks and calls to hatred against foreigners.

The location of the concert is still kept secret. On the eve of the performance that the far-right rapper Millésime K must give in Nantes this Saturday as part of his tour entitled "Patriote", the mystery hovers over the room where he will perform. A habit for the artist whose production company sometimes does not hesitate to hide the nature of the performance as was the case in Fargues Saint-Hilaire (Gironde) three weeks ago.

On the other hand, one thing is already certain: his arrival in the City of the Dukes is contested. This is not a first for the singer. A month ago, the situation was similar in Dijon. In the cities of Lille, Lyon, Grenoble or Montpellier, dates have even been canceled. In Loire-Atlantique, the first salvo of criticism came from the collective of struggle for rights and freedoms together against the ideas and acts of the extreme right (CLECED) composed of unions, associations, the League of Human Rights and Mrap.

'Nauseating messages'

In a statement released Wednesday, the collective calls for a "protest and denunciation rally in front of the concert venue of Millésime K". The rapper is accused of spreading "racist, sexist, homophobic and transphobic ideas" and using his art to "convey nauseating public messages of hatred and incitement to violence".

The protest then took a political turn. Via his Twitter account, Aymeric Seassau, the deputy for culture at the City of Nantes, said that Millésime K "is not welcome" because his "calls to hate that punctuate his 'concerts' have no place in our city" which "fights the extreme right in all its forms".

Taking action

With Le Figaro, the elected official confirms and explains the position that is his own and is shared by the community. Denouncing a character who "is a polemicist more than an artist", he accuses him of "peddling ideas that are not without consequences", referring in particular to the recent events in the Loire seaside resort of Saint-Brévin-les-Pins, where the mayor resigned after being the target of arson and numerous threats.

Aymeric Seasseau castigates the "virulent" remarks of Millésime K "towards foreigners and the LGBT public" which "turn into an act". He cites as examples the regular damage to the local Nosig (LGBTQI + center) and the pride marches, a staircase in the colors of the rainbow, in Nantes. It also evokes the action of far-right activists who attacked an electrical box to disrupt a show on gender for children played in early April in a room in Nantes.

Disturbing public order?

The cultural assistant also mocks the communication used by Millésime K and its production team. Announced in major cities, the rapper "reserves hidden rooms until the last minute" and "performs forty kilometers" from the initial location. In a city marked by the precedent, in 2014, of Dieudonné's show which had been cancelled at the last minute by the Council of State, is a cancellation to be expected?

"Part of its public is composed of shaved heads (sic) so there may be a disturbance to public order," says Aymeric Seassau, who specifies that the decision to cancel is the responsibility of the prefecture and not the City. Contacted by Le Figaro this Friday afternoon, the services of the State in Loire-Atlantique have not yet responded to our requests.
