Video: 5-year-old seriously injured in hit-and-run accident in Netanya (MDA)
A 15-year-old boy from Kafr Qasim was run over and killed today (Friday) in a hit-and-run accident near Rosh HaAyin. An MDA team called to the scene evacuated the boy in critical condition to Beilinson Hospital in Petah Tikva - but doctors later had no choice but to pronounce him dead. Police arrested a woman in her 40s on suspicion of assaulting him.
The incident was reported at night to the police's 100 hotline. The accident occurred at the entrance to Rosh HaAyin, when a vehicle hit a boy riding an electric bicycle and fled the scene. Traffic examiners in the Sharon area and investigators from the Rosh HaAyin station arrested a suspect, a resident of Rosh HaAyin, on suspicion of involvement in the accident. During the day, she will be brought before the court with a request to extend her detention.

A week ago, a five-year-old boy was critically injured when hit by a vehicle in Netanya. MDA medics and paramedics gave him medical treatment and evacuated him to Laniado Hospital while performing CPR. The boy was apparently walking on the road with his father. The driver of the offending vehicle fled the scene.
MDA paramedic Igor Taraskin said: "The boy was lying on the road unconscious and suffering from a very serious multi-system injury. We immediately began medical treatment and evacuated him to the hospital while performing CPR while his condition was critical."
