A robbery took a dramatic turn in the night from Thursday to Friday in Villeurbanne, near Lyon (Rhône). The facts took place in the Chamas Tacos sign, located on Salengro Avenue, around 3:30 am, reports RMC.
Customers and two employees were at the scene when a gunman burst in. He wanted to have the contents of the box handed over to him under duress. While robbing the store, one of the employees went around the counter. He then allegedly threw a chair in the direction of the assailant. He then returned fire, using the rifle he had with him, hitting him in the lower abdomen and thigh. Taken to hospital, the victim died as a result of his injuries.
The prosecutor's office opened an investigation for "robbery with a weapon and intentional homicide", which it entrusted to the judicial police.
The perpetrator is being sought. The regional newspaper Le Progrès specifies that he would have acted alone and would have fled on foot.
