Full-time employee Theresa König (24) will not only coordinate the town hall, but also network the local organizers.

Grafing – Grafing invests in culture. Theresa König (24) is Grafing's first full-time cultural manager. "We want to bring life into the place," said Grafing's mayor Christian Bauer on Friday at the official presentation of his new employee.

She lives in Babensham and previously studied theatre studies and sociology, worked as a journalist at a radio station, as well as at BR and part-time at the Residenztheater. She has also worked as a project and event manager in the field of corporate conferences.

In all projects, Theresa König has also been able to gain experience in the field of organization. This should benefit her as Grafing's cultural manager, because the first thing on the agenda is the reorganization of Grafing's calendar – both internally and externally on the city's website – as well as everything to do with the Stadthalle.

"The booked program, which Wolfgang Ramadam of 'Bread and Games' has organized, will of course remain in place," says König. It also wants to appeal to other target groups, i.e. young people. This is one of the reasons why she has in mind to turn Grafing's culture into a brand. Corresponding brand names already exist for this.

Grafinger culture as a brand

In this context, it starts with the "GraKo" on 25 June. GraKo is the abbreviation for Grafing Concert. On this June day, from 15 p.m. to 19 p.m., various Grafinger music formations will be entertained in and around the Grafinger Stadthalle - from the town band to the jazz musicians.

It will then continue once a month on Thursdays with GraDo – i.e. Grafing Thursday – with an open stage for everyone, pub quizzes, short concerts and the like. These evenings in the Turmstube are intended to be a kind of regulars' table for culture lovers. Another point in the Gra series is GraJu, which refers to the youth orchestra that will perform in Grafing this autumn, for example.

The city also wants to contribute to better networking between cultural workers and event organisers in Grafing. Theresa König will therefore be the contact person for everyone – even beyond the Stadthalle. It will certainly also be about coordinating appointments – if desired.

The full-time position of the new Grafinger cultural manager consists of two half-time positions: cultural management and city marketing. The fact that the two are not very far apart is shown by an investment by the city: It has purchased two monitors that will point out the current dates in the city area at busy locations and could thus attract visitors to the events.
