2023-05-12T16:57:08.865Z

Highlights: "The Mountain Rescuers" will start again in autumn in 2023. New episodes of the ZDF home series are scheduled to start this fall. Fans can get in the mood from 1 June, because ZDF will show five repeat episodes of 20th "Bergretter" season every Thursday at 15:12 p.m. ZDF: "Mountain rescuer" darling is called like the mountain doctor in the series of the same name. The mountain doctor embodied by Hans Sigl is also called Martin Gruber.

The last season of "The Mountain Rescuers" started much later than usual. This time, however, there will be new stories from Ramsau earlier.

Ramsau – The 14th season of "The Mountain Rescuers" did not have quite as dramatic an ending as "The Mountain Doctor", but there are still many unresolved questions after the broadcast of the final episode "Green Moon" for the time being. It will take a while before these are finally answered, but there is still a reason to be happy for fans of the ZDF home series. Because they don't have to wait as long as last time for new stories from Ramsau this time.

Cliffhanger ending and great drama: 14th "Mountain Rescuer" season has left a lot open

At the core of the plot of the 14th "Mountain Rescuer" season, in addition to daring rescue operations, was above all the troubled emotional world of main character Markus Kofler (Sebastian Ströbel, 46). After the separation from Katharina (Luise Bähr, 43) at the end of the 13th season and the surprising serial death of Jessika Pollath (Maxi Warwel, 40) in the following episode, there was only one way out for the head of the mountain rescue service: leave Ramsau and flee from the tragic events in his life.

For weeks it looked as if Markus Kofler would turn his back on his homeland forever and instead go on a Himalayan expedition with his new flame Nina (Josephin Busch, 36), but in the end he decided against it. All's well that ends well, but it's not yet, because the finale of the 14th "Mountain Rescuer" season left viewers with a cliffhanger ending – Jessika's old walkie-talkie, which could be a clue to her still-missing body.

Curious: "Mountain rescuer" darling is called like the mountain doctor

In 38 episodes, Andreas Marthaler (Martin Gruber, 52) led the "mountain rescuer" team until he fell to his death under dramatic circumstances in episode 6 of the sixth season ("Cut Off"). Attentive ZDF viewers in particular should have noticed: The former "Mountain Rescuer" lead actor has a prominent namesake. The mountain doctor embodied by Hans Sigl (53) in the series of the same name is also called Martin Gruber.

Everything is the same: "The Mountain Rescuers" will start again in autumn in 2023

Whether Markus, Katharina, Tobias (Markus Brandl, 48) and Co. can find their deceased colleague – viewers will probably only find out in the new "Mountain Rescuer" episodes, which are already being filmed diligently. There is no exact start date yet, but as ZDF has now announced, it should be ready this fall. If you remember: Due to the World Cup in Qatar, the "mountain rescuers" did not start until this spring instead of the end of 2022, but in 2023 they seem to have taken the tried and tested course again.
