Known for its economic activity, La Défense, frequented by some 180,000 employees, is also a district where people live. This territory of 564 hectares straddling Courbevoie, Nanterre and Puteaux has nearly 42,000 inhabitants for about 12,000 dwellings. With buildings from the 1970s on the Puteaux side, and more recent constructions on the Nanterre side, with the Terrasses district.
