Berg - He was the epitome of song culture and was considered by the Times to be the best singer in the world: Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau. Eleven years ago he died at his home in Berg. On the occasion of the anniversary of his death, the Kulturverein Berg invites you to a soirée at Kempfenhausen Palace.
The performers, soprano Christiane Libor and pianist Claar ter Horst have also worked with Dietrich Fischer Dieskau and will pay homage to him on Ascension Day, 18 May, 19.30 p.m. under the motto "Tell me, who teaches you songs?". The evening will open with selected songs by Franz Schubert. This is followed by Hugo Wolf and, in the second part, the Rückert Lieder by Robert Schumann and "Four Last Songs" by Richard Strauss.
Christiane Libor is one of the most sought-after sopranos
Christiane Libor is one of the most sought-after sopranos of our time. She received her training in the Lied interpretation class of Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau as well as with Julia Varady and Brigitte Fassbaender, among others. The singer makes guest appearances with leading roles in the opera repertoire at a large number of nationally and internationally renowned opera houses. In March, for example, she appeared as Brünhilde in the new production of "Götterdämmerung" at the Stuttgart Opera, and in the same role she will be a guest at the Erl/Tirol Festival in the summer. She has a great passion for singing. She recalls: "Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau opened up a universe of music and thus a universe of humanity!"
Pianist Claar ter Horst gives concerts all over the world
Claar ter Horst gives concerts all over the world and can be experienced as a piano partner of many great singers. A great source of inspiration was her fifteen-year accompaniment in the lessons and master classes of Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau. Her artistic work is documented on numerous CD recordings.
For their concert in the Knights' Hall, the artists have selected works by Franz Schubert, Hugo Wolf, as well as - in the second part of the evening - the Rückert Lieder by R. Schumann and "Four Last Songs" by Richard Strauss. These are all works that Fischer-Dieskau dealt with throughout his life.
Tickets for 24 euros (adults) and 12 euros (children and young people under 18 years) for the concert on Thursday, 18 March, are available by e-mail at schad.kulturverein@gmx.de or in advance at Drogerie Hoeck, Marienstraße 2, in Berg/Aufkirchen. (kb)
