Strike: Buses and trains also affected in the district of Miesbach - BRB informs

2023-05-13T15:49:03.913Z

Highlights: The railway and transport union EVG has called on its members to go on nationwide strikes from Sunday evening to Tuesday evening. In all likelihood, there will be no train traffic in the networks of the Bayerische Regiobahn (BRB) in the district of Miesbach. It is also not possible to switch to rail replacement services with buses, as many regional bus companies are subsidiaries of DB and are therefore also likely to be on strike. RVO buses are also cancelled during the 50-hour strike.

In the planned 50-hour strike from Sunday evening to Tuesday evening, the Bayerische Regiobahn (BRB) in the district of Miesbach is not expected to run.

District – The railway and transport union EVG has called on its members to go on nationwide strikes from Sunday evening to Tuesday evening (we reported in the national section). In all likelihood, there will be no train traffic in the networks of the Bayerische Regiobahn (BRB) – i.e. also in the district of Miesbach – during this time, as railway personnel who are responsible for the infrastructure and indispensable for operation will also be on strike.

This was announced by the company in a press release. As a result, it is also not possible to switch to rail replacement services with buses, as many regional bus companies are subsidiaries of DB and are therefore also likely to be on strike.

RVO buses are also cancelled

One such subsidiary is Regionalverkehr Oberbayern GmbH (RVO), which serves the bus lines in the Miesbach district. This company is also assuming minimum restrictions and that "all lines will not be operated again as scheduled until Wednesday, May 17. We therefore ask for your understanding, as we do not know in advance when and which services will be cancelled at RVO".

The BRB continues: "In order for the smoothest possible resumption of train traffic on Wednesday morning, some BRB vehicles have to go to the parks before the official start of the strike on Sunday evening at 22 p.m., from which they will resume regular operations on Wednesday morning. The first vehicles will therefore be taken out of regular service after 19 p.m."

Up-to-date information available on a daily basis

Passengers can find out about the current status of the strike and train services on www.brb.de. The social media channels would also be populated, according to the BRB. Mm
