Another crisis in the coalition: National Security Minister Ben-Gvir announced today (Sunday) at a cabinet meeting that the Otzma Yehudit party will vote against the coalition funds, claiming that Finance Minister Smotrich took care of distributing only to his ministries and gave them billions, while the Negev and Galilee were abandoned and received little money.
Minister Yitzhak Wasserlauf said at the meeting: "I am disappointed and angry, we took the Negev and Galilee and turned it into a strategic ministry. Every budget discussion goes down and down. It's easy for Bezalel to negotiate with himself, it's a blow to the Negev, to the Galilee, only 14% of the Jews remain in the Galilee, we want to Judaize the Negev and Galilee, but without a budget we won't be able to do that, it's also a violation of the agreement of what they promised us, I hope the budget doesn't pass as it is."
Minister Ben-Gvir: "Otzma Yehudit opposes this budget, we cannot forget the Negev and Galilee. The distribution must be fair; it cannot be that Bezalel will take three billion for himself and leave the Negev and Galilee without a budget. The finance minister is an important position, but you have to remember that the 14 seats we received together at Bezalel from people who want to Judaize the Negev and Galilee."
Minister Krei: "They are harming the special education kindergartens of the ultra-Orthodox state. You can't talk all day about core studies, and now you're cutting back on those who want to study core. This budget also does not bring good news to the periphery."
