Munich – Again and again, the Bavarian Minister of Economic Affairs, Hubert Aiwanger (Free Voters), causes a stir with his Twitter posts. And usually not in a positive sense. If something doesn't suit him, he likes to tease publicly. In an interview with our newspaper, he explains that he defends "the normal world" on Twitter.
During the Winnetou debate, he burst his collar and also to the current discussion about a drag reading for children in Munich, he willingly added his mustard and spoke of "child welfare endangerment". This time, he sees Mother's Day in jeopardy.

Specifically, it is about a Hessian daycare center, which declared in a letter to parents that it would no longer make gifts for Mother's and Father's Day with the children. The reason: "In today's world, where diversity is given a higher priority, we want to exemplify it and not exclude anyone." The constellation "mother/father/child" is also no longer the norm in today's families. Aiwanger shared the letter on Twitter and wrote: "Something like this must not be torn down!"
"If you question Mother's Day, you can't cope with your life. The reasonable majority of society must not allow itself to be unsettled by such ricochets," he said indignantly in another article. He received a lot of criticism for his tweet. Especially because the letter showed the location and district of the daycare center and it was so easy to identify.

Aiwanger sees no mistakes in his tweet
Numerous hate comments were therefore directed directly against the daycare center. According to the SZ, there was even damage to property on the grounds of the daycare center. In addition to Aiwanger, CDU member of the Bundestag Tilman Kuban also shared the letter to parents and wrote "there are no more limits to madness". "The mistake of triggering this turmoil was with the daycare center," Aiwanger told the SZ. "It's like giving up Christmas because some aren't Christian."
After the tumult of the last few days, the diocese of Fulda, sponsor of the Catholic daycare center, finally spoke out. The letter had led to "irritation". "The KiTa team has already responded to this with a second letter and asked for an apology. The KiTa team and the parents' council are now in direct dialogue: they agree that the original letter was unfortunate and therefore incorrectly worded." (tkip)
