Highlights: Roni Shani Feldstein has designed a five-room apartment in Hod Hasharon, Israel. The kitchen is a jewel in every respect and blends harmoniously with the living room and public space. One of the kitchen doors serves as a secret door that leads to a pantry and storage room. The bedroom is the ultimate escapism, wrapped in a griant-looking curtain that starts on the floor and slowly moves toward the ceiling. The design is super modern, with clean compositions and straight contours.

It conquers the program, aligns with the array in which it is located, saves time and money for creating construction and waste space, and creates an element of surprise. The hidden door that is part of a winning use

  • Closets: Riviera (except bedrooms).
  • Carpets:The red carpet.
  • Project: 5 room apartment, 160 sqm in Hod Hasharon.
  • Project acceptance status: Shell phase without internal division.
  • The challenge: a safe room and a 4-shade pipe that runs the length of the building without being able to change.
  • Renovation duration: 3 months.
  • Customer demand: A modern home with a warm and relaxing touch.

Getting an apartment at the shell stage is a huge advantage, like getting a blank slate from which to start everything. On the other hand, there is a responsibility to divide the spaces of the house in a sophisticated and precise way that will be relevant in the long term. When asked where to start, interior designer Roni Shani answers us, "First of all, I characterize the clients' needs, their lifestyle and from there realize the dream apartment with a program that doesn't miss any space."

In the house in front of you, Ronnie located the kitchen and from there she advanced to the other spaces. The kitchen in the postmodern era is much more than cooking functions, and is an experience right from the preparation stage, through hosting and editing. The kitchen is a jewel in every respect and blends harmoniously with the living room and public space.

"We all know the long-awaited moment when you enter your home impatiently and just want to free yourself from formalities, free yourself from bags, bags, keys and more. In order to provide a practical element without compromising the style, I designed a small foyer in which I designed a black Riviera cabinet, a work of art that welcomes visitors and contains all the small items that if you don't take care of storage space, they start to pile up randomly, and the road to disorder is faster than you expect." Have we already said both beautiful and practical?

"To me, the kitchen is the core of the house, the place where everything is cooked literally, and therefore a lot of thought is invested in it. Beyond the design importance, it contains many functions designed to provide storage solutions and make the entire cooking and baking process an experience (not just when eating and savoring the flavors). The design is super modern, with clean compositions and straight contours. The kitchen was designed with an island with a stove with a luxury extractor hood above it, which also serves as a lighting fixture. Did I promise you a twist? Indeed, one of the kitchen doors serves as a secret door that leads to a pantry and storage room."

On the way to the living room, you cuddle on a modernist sofa and armchair next to a unique terrazzo table. In the living room, too, I created an interesting twist when I designed a TV on a pole that conveys a clean, modern look that opens up the space and eliminates the need for additional and burdensome carpentry.

Remember the four shade tube we received as a dowry along with the envelope of the apartment? And in our case passing through the bedroom? So I decided to turn the disadvantage into an advantage, and I designed a perfect closet that would hide it, that would contain a TV, and as in the kitchen here, too, one of the doors is a secret door to a luxurious bathroom, to which I fitted porcelain granite plates 300X100 cm, a double sink, black forging and sanitary ware in a matte gray shade. The range of materials and elements enhance the space and give it a luxurious and pampering look of a hotel, only without check-in.

Since the bedroom is the ultimate escapism, I wrapped it in a magical griant-looking curtain that starts with a white ceiling and slowly toward the floor takes on a black hue. The soft and luxurious bed was decorated with ceiling-hanging light fixtures.

"We came to this room both to work and to play. It's not that we don't take our work seriously, it's just that the designer designed a dual-use room that serves as both a study and a games room," share satisfied customers.

So how does all the magic happen? "By designing a huge wall cabinet, which contains a library and a desk in a continuous line, there is significant space left in the room that will allow children to take out games and play on the carpet.

"The girl's room is covered with wallpaper of unicorns and rainbow elements. In the baby's room, I painted the walls with cool asymmetrical rectangles."

The general shower is equipped with a huge blue sink cabinet where the washer and dryer are hidden. "Here, too, as in the parents' room, we created a double sink so that the children could use the sinks at the same time and save time getting ready in the morning. Guest toilets were fitted with fishbone cladding and wall-to-wall carpentry.

"The work process was amazing and satisfying. It was exciting to see the house take shape step by step and everything just like in the program. As with any project, I create symbiosis with the clients. Thank you, they flow with me, and the Sisyphean process of building and renovating becomes a formative experience."

A tip for builders and renovators: experiment with innovative solutions, take advantage of the hidden door option, and don't be afraid to dare to create new and uncommon things. This is your home. Choose elements for it that will be unique only to you.

It's all about the money – The work of architects and designers also includes an intelligent segmentation of the budget, which in this case was NIS 500,000.

What it included: construction of the entire apartment, electrical infrastructure, plumbing, construction of walls, kitchen, sanitary ware, cladding carpentry, furniture, lighting and accessories.
