Otzma Yehudit Chairman Itamar Ben-Gvir announced at a cabinet meeting on Sunday that his party would not support the current proposal to distribute coalition funds, in protest of the lack of budgets for the development of the Negev and Galilee. He explained at the cabinet meeting, "We cannot forget the Negev and Galilee, the division must be fair."

Ben-Gvir also attacked his former partner, Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, claiming that he "took three billion for himself and will leave the Negev and Galilee without a budget." Ben-Gvir turned to him and said, "Finance minister is an important position, but you have to remember that the 14 seats we received together are from people who want to Judaize the Negev and Galilee."

Negev and Galilee Minister Yitzhak Wasserlauf of Otzma Yehudit said he was "disappointed and angry" about the budget, and also attacked the finance minister. "We took the Negev and Galilee and turned it into a strategic ministry, every budget discussion goes down and down," he said at the cabinet meeting, "It's easy for Bezalel to negotiate with himself, it's an attack on the Negev, in the Galilee, only 14% Jews remain in the Galilee, we want to Judaize the Negev and Galilee but without a budget we won't be able to do that, it's also a violation of an agreement of what they promised us. I hope the budget doesn't pass as it is."

Communications Minister Shlomo Krei took issue with the fact that, according to him, "the special education kindergartens of the ultra-Orthodox state are being harmed, it is impossible to talk all day about core studies, and now they are cutting back on those who want to study the core curriculum. This budget also does not bring good news to the periphery." Justice Minister Yariv Levin, for his part, welcomed the debate, saying, "It probably helps to understand how miraculous it is that this government was established at all."
