Two killed in shooting at motorcycle club in Georgia. Multiple Victims Also Reported in Sacramento Shooting

Other episodes of gun violence were reported in Albany, New York, where a person opened fire on a barbershop, killing a man and wounding a child; and in Yuma, Arizona, with seven gunshot wounds.


In different parts of the country, episodes of gun violence were reported that left multiple victims, on Saturday afternoon and night: one dead in a shooting attack on a barbershop in Albany, New York, two dead in an argument at a motorcycle club in Augusta, Georgia, seven injured in an alleged aggravated assault in Yuma, Arizona and several victims in a shooting at a meeting at a liquor store in Sacramento, California.

Police in Sevierville, Tennessee, also announced that they managed to save a police dog that had been injured in a shooting during an alleged arrest attempt at a home Friday night.

Shooting at a barbershop: one dead and a child wounded

In Albany, New York, police are investigating a shooting at a barbershop located at 221 Second Avenue around 2:45 p.m. local time that left one dead and two injured, one of them a child.

"Preliminarily, it appears that the suspect, an unknown person who was outside the premises, fired into the building, wounding three people who were inside," Steve Smith, public information officer for the Albany Police said on Twitter.

A 47-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to the shoulder and was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said. The other victims are a 19-year-old with a non-life-threatening foot wound, and anine-year-old boy who was grazed by a bullet that grazed his torso leaving a non-life-threatening wound.

At approximately 6:35 p.m. on Saturday, the Richmond County Sheriff's Office responded to a shooting in the city of Augusta, Georgia. There are two victims who died and three others who were transported to the hospital for treatment of their injuries from the shooting, of which the circumstances are still being investigated, Lt. Kimberly Lee of the Richmond County Sheriff's Office said in a statement.

Richmond County Sheriff Richard Roundtree confirmed to NBC News local WRDW 26 that the shooting occurred after an argument at an event at a motorcycle club.

Report of Shooting with Multiple Victims in Sacramento

In the area north of Sacramento, California, on Saturday night, a shooting also left several people shot. The Sacramento Police Department said it happened shortly after 9:30 p.m. on Fairfield Street, a few blocks from the intersection of Del Paso Boulevard and Arden Way, NBC News location KCRA3 said.

It's not immediately clear how many people were shot. Sacramento police only confirmed "multiple victims." KCRA3 said it happened at a liquor store. No arrests were made, and no information was available on a suspect as of early Sunday.

Seven injured in the border city of Yuma

In Yuma, on Arizona's border with Mexico, police received a report around 11 p.m. local time of an aggravated assault and found at least seven gunshot wounds upon arrival. The severity of the injuries was unknown until early Sunday. Police said the shooting apparently occurred in the middle of a gathering or event. No suspects were reported.

Police dog shot in Tennessee survives

Local police responded around 8:15 p.m. local time to a residence in New Center in Sevierville, Tennessee, to follow up on a case for an incident in which someone allegedly fled in a vehicle after a felony. "When officers approached the residence, in circumstances that are still being investigated, there was an exchange of gunfire with an individual who was inside," the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) said in a statement.

The person who was in the house died, but his name was not released pending notification of his relatives. While there was another person wounded by bullet who was at the scene, and was taken to a hospital.

A K-9 police dog, a Belgian Malinois, was also injured and had to undergo emergency surgery, NBC's 10News reported. "The surgery went well and Hank is now at home resting with his partner, Officer Jordan Paul," the Sevierville Police Department said in a statement.

TBI is investigating what happened at the request of the local prosecutor's office to determine if the action of the police was justified, with different local departments and agencies that intervened.
