It is deliberate damage to property that leaves many speechless: On Reddit, a user showed a destroyed ATM in Regensburg.
Regensburg – In everyday life, one repeatedly comes across public places or things that are provided for the use of the general public – and unfortunately – obviously intentionally – have been damaged. This is what happened to a Reddit user in Regensburg, who found an out-of-service savings bank ATM at the main train station.
Sparkassen ATM: Window destroyed – Regensburg citizen no longer understands the world
The user posted a photo on Reddit showing the vending machine. Its window was destroyed, and the screen behind it shows that the machine is temporarily out of order. "Why do people do this?" wrote user "MafinKingg444" about the photo.
The more than 200 comments under the post show that many Reddit users can understand the frustration of the post creator. However, many also provide deliberately cynical answers to the question of "MafinKingg444". One wrote, for example, that he initially thought that the machine was a Deutsche Bahn ticket machine – because then he would have been able to understand the destructive rage. Another user writes that the perpetrators had previously been on vacation in Berlin.

Savings bank ATM in Regensburg destroyed: "Anger against the machine"
Some users also sarcastically interpret the attack on the Sparkasse ATM as the first harbingers of the war against the machines – an allusion to the "Terminator" film series and the current fuss about new artificial intelligences such as ChatGPT. Another user probably provides the most logical explanation: "Lack of self-control and a high level of frustration".
