Wolfratshausen – After several wet accidents had already occurred on the A95 on Wednesday and Thursday morning (we reported), there was another traffic accident on Thursday evening. Again, according to the report of the traffic police (VPI) Weilheim, inappropriate speed on rain-soaked roads was the cause.

180 km/h on a wet road: BMW racer shoots into the crash barrier of the A95

Around 18:55 p.m., a 33-year-old from the district of Neumarkt/Oberpfalz drove a BMW 3 Series in the direction of Munich. Between the motorway junction Starnberg and Neuried, shortly after the speed limit of "80 km/h in wet conditions" was lifted, it accelerated massively to about 180 km/h. The man lost control of his car and collided with a Subaru Legacy driving to his right, driven by a 38-year-old from the district of Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen.

The Subaru swerved to the right against the guardrail and stopped between the side and right lanes. The person who caused the accident crashed into the center barrier on the left, losing one of the two front wheels. The BMW then continued to roll to the right and collided several times with the right-hand crash barrier before finally coming to a stop on the hard shoulder after around 500 metres.

The BMW driver suffered minor injuries. The driver of the Subaru, apparently uninjured, was taken to a hospital for safe clarification. The two cars suffered massive property damage amounting to around 20,000 euros (BMW) and 10,000 euros (Subaru). In addition, 57 crash barrier panels were damaged. Their repair is expected to cost around 15,000 euros. The scene of the accident was completely closed for about an hour. However, since the traffic could be diverted via the adjacent motorway parking lot, there was no traffic jam.
