After the cancelled rail strike, regional transport in the country has "started stably", according to Deutsche Bahn. However, commuters and travelers still had to adjust to restrictions and cancellations on Monday. According to a railway spokeswoman, around 90 percent of the planned trains will run in long-distance traffic. S-Bahn trains in the greater Stuttgart area were initially only running every hour on Monday.
Stuttgart - They are working at full speed to ensure that the S-Bahn traffic returns to normal in the course of the day, the spokeswoman said.
Passengers were asked to inform themselves in any case before the planned departure. Due to the short-term cancellation of the strike, Deutsche Bahn had to reschedule around 50,000 train journeys nationwide in long-distance and local transport alone, as well as the associated shift and deployment schedules. From Tuesday, all ICE and IC trains will be back on the road as planned.
According to the SWR, the first effects were already on Sunday evening in Baden-Württemberg. Accordingly, two long-distance trains were cancelled in Mannheim at around 20.00 p.m. - including the TGV to Paris. In Karlsruhe, too, there were delays and cancellations in the evening. Some trains were correspondingly fuller. Dpa
