Andreas Kieling was apparently attacked by a bear while filming a documentary. But Kieling doesn't seem to resent the bear very much.
Munich – In recent weeks, bears have repeatedly made headlines. Just a few weeks ago, for example, a jogger was killed by a bear in Italy. Now the well-known German documentary filmmaker Andreas Kieling was also attacked by a bear and seriously injured.

Documentary filmmaker Andreas Kieling was attacked by bears: "I'm doing okay again!"
The documentary filmmaker was apparently in the Carpathian Mountains filming a documentary about waterfowl when the incident occurred. On his Facebook page with more than 300,000 followers (as of May 14, 2023), Kieling writes: "Bear attack a week ago while filming rare waterfowl in the High Carpathians! The bear is fine, he just followed his instincts! I'm doing okay again! With nature-loving greetings, your Andreas."
Below the post are two pictures, one of which shows the apparently seriously injured Kieling covered in blood. Apparently, the photo was taken immediately after the bear attack on Kieling. The animal expert looks visibly shocked. All readers who cannot look at such brutal images well should be warned at this point about the following picture.

In the comments under the Facebook post, many users are shocked. For example, one user commented: "Without warning and explanation, a violently shocking picture!!"
Otherwise, many wishes for improvement will accumulate under the documentary filmmaker's post. one comment, for example, reads "Thank you for your wonderful reporting. Courageous to accept dangerous things in the process. Very quick recovery and also otherwise, ALL THE BEST."
Also critical reactions after the attack on Kieling: "If you absolutely have to invade the territory of the bears..."
Other Facebook users also wish Kieling a speedy recovery, but attribute a certain share of the blame for the incident. One commentary reads "if you absolutely have to enter the bears' territory, then in the end you shouldn't really be surprised if something like this happens." In another, despite all the blood, the incident is downplayed: "It can't be that bad when it's time to post on Facebook." Probably a somewhat harsh judgment.

Bear attack on documentary filmmaker Andreas Kieling – bears also spotted in Germany
The documentary filmmaker – who has already worked with ZDF on the documentary series Kieling's Wild World – has not yet commented further on the exact events of the bear attack. When wild animals and humans collide, things can quickly become dangerous and there are some things you shouldn't do when you encounter a bear.
