At the PRO summit Larreta accepted that a poll defines the PRO candidate in Ciudad and Jorge Macri is affirmed, as promoted by the former president. But it prevailed in the Province.

"I have my candidate for governor defined, and it is Diego," Horacio Rodríguez Larreta said before the other attendees at the PRO summit, Mauricio Macri, Patricia Bullrich and María Eugenia Vidal.

Both the former president and Bullrich herself had been in favor of a single list. Logically, what the presidential candidate asked was that the candidate for governor align himself with his candidacy. Otherwise, I would choose someone from the roster made up of Cristian Ritondo, Néstor Grindetti, Joaquín de la Torre and Javier Iguacel.

Belatedly, Macri had been replicating the idea of the useful vote, that is, that there is a single candidate in the province of Buenos Aires and in the nation – although the latter is practically impossible – so that on the night of the PASO the best positioned candidate, or at most the second best positioned, is that of Together for Change. Logic to which Cristina Kirchner already adhered in relation to the Frente de Todos.

Larreta quickly got what he wanted. Do not lend his candidate, Santilli, to his opponent despite the position of Macri, a sector of the Buenos Aires radicalism and Bullrich herself.

One of the attendees denied that it had been decided to join José Luis Espert in Together for Change. But progress was made in the formation of a commission in which the four are represented and that will surely decide its incoporation. From there, it could be activated to modify the name of the opposition coalition to also contain the new liberal member.

From the Buenos Aires radicalism they assure that today, their support is not for Larreta or Bullrich, but for their, for now, presidential candidates, Gerardo Morales and Facundo Manes. However, a UCR leader believes that the decision taken by the PRO, and promoted by Larreta, goes against the objective of winning the province.

A pollster who usually works for the PRO slips that the Buenos Aires is a very complex scenario given the growth of Milei and the shrinking of Together for Change. And he warns that a competition like the PASO, which divides the vote, in a province that does not have a runoff, "can leave you third or fourth even if in the sum it gives more than the libertarian space."

At the meeting in Vidal's department, agreement also came quickly on the only PRO candidate in the City. It was like a concession from Larreta in exchange for the strategy in the province. A polling mechanism was agreed to define whether it will be Jorge Macri or Fernán Quirós. In principle, each of them will ask for a survey and in fifteen days they will collate the results.

The polls of the Quirós, Jorge Macri and Bullrich teams have him at the cousin of the former president first. In fact, the one that looks most advantageous for the Buenos Aires Minister of Health is one in which it appears slightly below Jorge Macri, although the reading they make is that as Vidal also appears in that sample, their votes would go to Quirós.

"This allows us to build a path for Horacio to lower the candidacy of Fernán without paying more political cost for maintaining an intern in the City," says a Macrista leader.

Beyond the Larreta-Bullrich agreement, the internal one persists.

The next challenge will be to define the lists of national deputies for the City. Historically, several payrolls were never presented, and there could be discussed the formation of a single list in which the PRO, the UCR and the Civic Coalition converge, which would merit a meganegotiation in which all sectors are involved.

Nor is the rift between Macri and Larreta settled. The larretismo argues that the former president has been promoting that María Eugenia Vidal play with Bullrich and that he even promised him a Ministry in an eventual government of the former Minister of Security. They assure that Macri's argument is that Bullrich must be helped if he arrives at the Casa Rosada due to the lack of structure.

Obviously, in Bullrich's space they deny that the presidential candidate lacks equipment. "We have too much, and we don't need anyone's help," they retort.
