Police are expected to raise the alert level to the highest level on Thursday. Tens of thousands are expected to participate in the flag parade in Jerusalem, which will pass through two routes. This year, many ministers are also expected to participate in the parade, including the Minister of National Security, the Minister of Finance, the Minister of Information, the Minister of Environmental Protection, the Minister of Immigrant Absorption and the Minister of Heritage. The police believe that other ministers will participate in the parade, including Orit Strock, Miri Regev, Meir Porush and Yitzhak Wesselhorf.

Jerusalem Day will take place on Thursday and Friday, but most of the events across the country will take place on Thursday, including state events, marches and ceremonies, most of which will take place in the capital.

All ceremonies and events

The police estimate that tens of thousands will visit Jerusalem, which will become, like last year, a colorful city. Among the expected events: a ceremony on Mount Herzl attended by the President of Israel, a ceremony at Ammunition Hill with the participation of Prime Minister Netanyahu and processions at the Western Wall. There will also be a flag dance, which is considered the main event.

Celebrations are also expected at Independence Park, and at the Rabbi's Center. In Lod there is expected to be a flag parade of the Torah nucleus, attended by tens of thousands. In Ramle, Yeshivat Tiferet Shlomo plans to hold a procession, and additional events will take place in Kfar Saba. In Tel Aviv as well, a procession of a Torah nucleus is expected to take place, and a performance is planned in Yarkon Park.

"Taking into account disturbances"

As mentioned, the police are once again on high alert against the backdrop of the 2021 flag parade – an event that led to Guardian of the Walls in the mixed cities. "We are preparing for any extreme scenario," says a senior police officer. "Especially after Operation Shield and Arrow, there is a large number of warnings of attacks."

In light of this, headquarters will be established opposite friction points, and in recent days police commanders have been holding talks with the heads of municipalities in Arab and Arab cities in order to reduce the possibility of exceptional incidents.

"We take into account disturbances and high-trajectory fire," the officer added, adding that in light of the sensitivity, each force will be headed by a senior commander. "There is currently no specific intelligence information. We have general warnings, we do not detect anti-discourse to these incidents, but police intelligence and that of the Shin Bet are monitoring the social networks," the senior officer added.

As mentioned, special alert is being prepared for the flag dance that will pass through Damascus Gate this year as well. According to the senior officer, there is a great response from both the public and VIPs who wish to participate in the event. The parade will begin on King George Street - Sacher Park, and will pass through two routes: through Damascus Gate and Jaffa Gate
